Penetrations of the vapour control layer need special attention regarding a permanent functional sealing. Some manufacturers are offering special grommets for the sealing of HRV ducts. We´re testing a new high performance sealant at the moment. This sealant is made for the proper bonding of window tapes and vapour control membranes to blockwork, timber, rsj and many more surfaces. The adhesive will stick on damp substrates and can proceed to temperatures down to -10° Celsius.
